History
It was founded in 2006 by Erwin Bergsma who started building up
his retailing experience with a regional chain of bookstores in the Netherlands.
As part of his business studies, he had a traineeship in the buying and
merchandising department of Albert Heijn, the largest Dutch grocery-retailer and part of the global
retail giant Ahold. After that followed
a career of 14 years with the global market information specialist A.C.Nielsen,
nowadays The Nielsen Company.
With Nielsen, Erwin initially had account management, consulting and marketing roles
for their Dutch office, but spent the last 8 years in European and Global management
roles in the areas of marketing, product management and professional services. In his last role
of Global Director of Product Management, he was responsible for the development and marketing
of well-known Category Management products like the Spaceman assortment
planning and shelf-space management applications, and
all services around them. Erwin has managed people
across multiple continents, and worked with many of the world's largest retailers
and manufacturers in the retailing industry.
Offices
The company is based in Belgium, in the countryside south-east of
Brussels, close to the famous university town
Leuven. This provides an central point from where clients can be served efficiently,
with easy access to motorways for travel in Belgium as well as to the Netherlands, Germany and France,
and close proximity to two airports for international travel by plane.
